Our solid brass vintage style Sundial compass is a replica of one from the mid 1700's that was left behind on Roger's Island in upstate New York by "Roger's Rangers", an elite British fighting force in North America that some consider the inspiration for today's special forces.Antiqued brass 5" wide compass unfolds to reveal a burgundy thread and pendulum that casts a shadow on the cast brass clock face. Three thumbscrew leveling legs can be adjusted and were used in conjunction with the pendulum to ensure the compass base was level for accurate readings.
